The West is stagnating , however, the world population is growing out of control. 1 person can make all the waste they want ant it doesn’t affect the eco system 1000 persons making waste is a disaster.
Until you start promoting population control all your passion is at best a bandaid. The 3rd world will drag down the eco system in the next 100 years as they modernize and become as consumption oriented as the West
